Team Member Practicum Requirements
From OpenAgile
The experience component for Team Member certification is designed to ensure that an individual has developed a basic capacity to function on an OpenAgile team. As such, there are two options for gaining this experience.
Intensive Practicum
One Cycle as a member of an agile team (can be OpenAgile, Scrum, Extreme Programming, or other agile method which uses cycles/iterations/sprints - must have supporting documentation)
The Cycle must have had a team-level agile coach with the team for at least 50% of the team's time. E.g. a team that has a two-week long cycle with a 40-hour work week would mean a coach that was serving the team for at least 40 hours during that Cycle. The agile coach need not be someone certified to do OpenAgile Mentoring, but if it is not, then that coach must provide an additional endorsement for the team member.
Extended Practicum
Ten Cycles as a member of an agile team (can be OpenAgile, Scrum, Extreme Programming, or other agile method which uses cycles/iterations/sprints - must have supporting documentation)
The individual must have received individual coaching (either in-person or phone coaching) that amounts to 5% of the time spent in the Ten Cycles. E.g. an individual working on a team with a one-week long cycle and a 20-hour work week would mean that the individual received 10 hours of coaching. The agile coach need not be someone certified to do OpenAgile Mentoring, but if it is not, then that coach must provide an additional endorsement for the team member.
Mentor / Coach Endorsement
If the individual applicant for the Team Member certification has been assisted by someone with an OpenAgile Mentoring certification then that person need only include that mentor's name in their Team Member application. If the applicant had an agile coach who is not OpenAgile certified, then that coach must provide a written endorsement that includes the following information:
1. Name of Coach 2. Name of Team Member 3. Type of Agile Method used 4. Cycle/Iteration/Sprint length 5. Coaching start date and end date 6. #hours of coaching 7. Brief description of coach's experience with agile methods 8. Brief description of the capacities that the Team Member improved or added during the coaching period
